Loved your poem about Houston on BBC radio 4 just now!
Be good to have it on this site?
You’re one of the best poets in the world. Your work is inspiring, and you have such an amazing passion for your craft.
Ms Browne: I just read your essay in oct/nov APR. Wow! It is inspiring something better in me. I love that you got to see Van Morrison, too. Made me find Astral Weeks and St Dominic’s on Apple Music. I might play them both on repeat for the next few days.
I used to have a bumper stick on my old Pinto wagon alien green back in single mom newly sober alcoholic days the sticker said MUSIC IS MY LIFE. I ran that poor horse into the ground. Now my sticker says I’M WITH THE HIPPIES, all flowers and paisley.
Thank you again for the piece in APR. I haven’t read any of your poems except the emoji poem in Rumpus. Wonderful. But I will. For some reason I am envisioning change in my life. Again to the future. Starting with an inkling it just might be possible. Whew, what a couple of years, right? With more to come.
P.S Maybe I will move to Texas and help drive women out-of-state to Planned Parenthood!
Hi Liza, thanks so much for this kind note! Thrilled you read the essay, and also excited you hear these weird days are pointing you toward new things. Keep on and hell yeah we can use all the help we can get in Texas these days. All best, Jenny
